Trauma

TRAUMA adalah salah satu band pengusung musik ‘death metal’ tertua di Indonesia yang terus eksis hingga saat ini. Terbentuk di Jakarta pada tanggal 18 Agustus 1992 dan sudah tampil lebih dari 200 kali di berbagai event di banyak kota di seluruh Indonesia seperti di seputar Jabodetabek, Bandung, Denpasar-BALI, Medan, Bogor, Sukabumi, Rangkasbitung, Karawang, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Solo, Cirebon, Kendal, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Palembang, dll…

Demo pertama TRAUMA “Incomplete damnation” dirilis di tahun 1997 dan di tahun 1998 TRAUMA akhirnya merilis full length album perdana yang berjudul “Extinction of Mankind” via label indie local ; MORBID NOISE RECORDS. Berisikan 10 buah lagu. Genap satu tahun setelah rilis, di tahun 1999 album ini kemudian dilisensi secara ekslusif oleh PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT (Sebuah label asal Malaysia dengan dukungan distribusi yang kuat dari PONY CANYON) untuk market Malaysia,Singapore dan Thailand. Dan di tahun 2000, sebuah label anyar asal Chicago USA; OWL RECORDS akhirnya juga melisensi album “Extinction of Mankind” untuk pasaran yang lebih luas. Kali ini dalam format kaset dan juga CD. Label ini juga kemudian meriliskan Split album TRAUMA/CALLIGERY (Czech Republik) di tahun yang sama.

Selepas itu, TRAUMA juga kerap merilis split album dengan banyak band yang berasal dari berbagai Negara. Di tahun 2000 PSYCHIC SCREAM ENT (Malaysia) juga meriliskan split album TRAUMA dengan band UNVEILED yang berasal dari Malaysia untuk wilayah pemasaran worldwide. Label local EXTREME SOULS PRODUCTION (2002) juga meriliskan live TRAUMA dengan band ‘mince core’ legenda asal Belgia; AGATHOCLES. Album tsb diberi tiel “Death Metal vs. Mince Core”. Di tahun yang sama pula, respon yang sangat positif datang dari sebuah label asal Negeri Belanda; MANGLED MAGGOT STEW RECORDS. Label ini kemudian menggabungkan TRAUMA dan band asal Belanda; TUMOUR dalam sebuah split album yang diberi title “Death Metal vs. Gore Grind”. Sukses dengan ini, MANGLED MAGGOT STEW RECORDS yang bermarkas di Holland ini kemudian meriliskan 4 way Split album yang berisikan 4 band; TRAUMA (Indonesia)/PLANKTON (Belanda)/SANGUINARY (Belanda)/INTUMESCENCE (Belanda)

Sejauh ini TRAUMA juga sudah ambil bagian di sekitar 50 judul album kompilasi yang dirilis oleh label major maupun indie label, baik yang berasal dari Indonesia maupun luar Indonesia. Salah satu kompilasi yang paling sukses adalah “METALIK KLINIK” (Vol.1-1997 dan V-2003). Album Produksi ROTORCORP/MUSICA ini khabarnya terjual lebih dari 100.000 keping hingga saat ini. Selain itu TRAUMA juga ikut serta dalam kompilasi album bertitel “PANGGILAN PULAU PUAKA” (Vol.II dan III) yang dirilis oleh PSYCHIC SCREAM ENT dari Malaysia. Khabarnya album ini juga merupakan album kompilasi musik metal terlaris di Malaysia pada tahun 2000-2001. PONY CANYON-Malaysia juga sempat menyertakan TRAUMA dalam kompilasi CD nya yang ber-titel “METAL KLASIK Malaysia vs. Indonesia”. Lagu-lagu dari TRAUMA juga sempat ikut di berbagai album kompilasi yang diproduksi oleh label-label asal Prancis, Amerika, Australia, Russia, Jerman, Ukraina, Thailand, Mexico, dll…

Beberapa lagu milik TRAUMA juga sempat menjadi #1 di beberapa program musik rock di radio local termasuk I-Radio “I-ROCK” yang menempatkan lagu “Pelangi Hitam” dari TRAUMA (Juni 2002) di posisi teratas chart yang dibuatnya. Posisi ini bahkan sempat bertahan selama 5 minggu berturut-turut. TRAUMA juga sering menghiasi halaman-halaman interview dari berbagai media cetak di tanah air baik fanzine/magazine underground yang berasal dari berbagai kota di Indonesia maupun media-media yang lebih ‘mainstream’. TRAUMA juga kerap mendapatkan tempat di berbagai media cetak yang berasal dari luar Indonesia baik berupa Interview, profil band maupun ulasan (review) album. Album-album TRAUMA juga kerap mendapat respons positif dari banyak label/Magazine di luar negeri seperti: RELAPSE (Usa) atau juga BRUTALIZED Magazine (Usa), bahkan Max Cavalera (SEPULTURA/SOULFLY) sempat memberi komentar lagu-lagu TRAUMA via email.

TRAUMA juga sempat tampil secara live selama 30 menit dalam sebuah acara televisi yang bejudul “Go-Rock” yang diadakan oleh TVRI di tahun 2002. TRAUMA selalu berusaha tampil secara maksimal dan orisinil dalam penyuguhan musik death metal yang dimainkannya tanpa menjadi sebuah band ‘copy cat’ band-band manca negara yang sangat banyak memberi pengaruh terhadap keberadaan dan eksistensi TRAUMA hingga saat ini.

Pada tanggal 26 Maret 2003, TRAUMA merilis full length album ke-2 via KROSSOVER Records /MUSICA. Album ini diberi title “Paradigma; Demi Hidup Tak Perlu Harus Mati” dan berisikan 11 lagu. Album ini terjual lebih dari 10.000 keping dan Video clip dari album ini ; “Api dalam Otak” juga kerap ditayangkan di MTV Indonesia di tahun 2003.

Dan 4 bulan selepas album “Paradigma…” dirilis, sebuah label indie EDELWEISS Production akhirnya juga meriliskan sebuah buku autobiography TRAUMA yang berjudul “Dimensi paradigma”. Buku yang ditulis oleh Nino Aspiranta (Vocalis TRAUMA) ini berisikan lengkap tentang perjalanan karir band ini mulai tahun 1992-2003 dan telah terjual habis.

Atas banyaknya permintaan, di Bulan Desember 2004, genap 6 tahun semenjak debut album “Extinction of Mankind” dirilis di tahun 1998, akhirnya, VARIANT MUSIC INDONESIA (VMI) dengan dukungan distribusi dari ALFA RECORDS sepakat untuk merilis ulang debut album ini termasuk 1 buah lagu unreleased yang menjadi bonus di dalamnya. Album ini tampil dalam kemasan yang baru (termasuk cover kaset yang baru). Dan lagu andalan “Human Suffering” yang dianggap sebagai ‘lagu kebangsaan TRAUMA’ akhirnya juga dibuatkan video clip. Ini merupakan video clip ke-3 TRAUMA setelah “Penjara Dendam” yang urung dilanjutkan (METALIK KLINIK II – 2002) dan “Api Dalam Otak” (Album “Paradigma…”- 2003).

Dan dengan line-up terbarunya di tahun 2007: Nino (Vocal), Heila (Guitar), Cokie (Drums) dan Rusdi (Bass) TRAUMA kembali masuk studio rekaman dan merampungkan materi album ke-3 yang akhirnya dirilis secara nasional oleh label anyar ROXANA777 Records (Dengan dukungan distribusi major oleh distributor rekaman RNB) pada bulan Desember 2008 dengan title “DOMINASI KEMENANGAN”. Dan album ini juga dilisensi oleh DARK COLLESEUM Records (Malaysia) untuk pasaran Singapore & Malaysia di tahun 2009.

Di akhir tahun 2008 lalu, posisi Cokie (Drums) akhirnya digantikan oleh Dhani dan dengan formasi teranyar ini TRAUMA kembali menggebrak event-event musik, tour DOMINASI KEMENANGAN sekaligus merampungkan materi anyar untuk split album terbaru termasuk Full length album ke-4 TRAUMA yang akan dirilis di tahun 2010 ini.
